Thought: Rap Gods in the eyes of a Mortal

Thought:  Rap Gods in the Eyes of a Mortal In any conversation about rap the subject of the best rapper will inevitability come up and that is a completely subjective debate. Case in point, there are people alive today that will swear Biggie and Tupac aren't even in the conversation and that's fine because that's their opinion but if  you ask me, Tupac and Biggie are immortal. They will transcend the conversation because they died well before their best years. Excluding those guys, and no disrespect to Cube and Dre and them for the bangers they produced but in my opinion these guys are just my personal favorites.  Eminem  I kind of grew up on Eminem. I had heard other rap music but I was so young back then that my mom had way more control over the music I listened to, so, when I was able to actually experiment with music he was one of the first rappers I actually followed and purchased albums. In my opinion he was the voice of generation of kids that didn'

What to Watch Friday: Triple Pick

What to Watch Friday: Triple Pick  Last week I got a little wrapped up with some things, so, I didn't get around to updating the list or doing my pick for last week and with Mother's day recently passing-- my picks for the week are going to keep with the Mother's Day/ women appreciation theme.  First up we have one of my favorite comedy movies-- Girls Trip. Girls Trip is about 4 friends that have found themselves drifting apart due to careers, family, and overall lifestyle changes. They decide it has been far too long since their last get together and it's time for a reunion. I picked this movie because Tiffany Hadish is hilarious, Jada Pinkett and Queen Latifah always deliver, and Regina Hall is just amazing. The movie is packed with laughs and relatable touching moments. Definitely a great Friday/ weekend watch.  Click here to watch Trailer ( here ) Next up is a movie I just recently saw because they were spamming on cable television because

What to Watch Friday: Kristy & He's Out There

What to watch Friday: Kristy & He’s Out There Anyone that knows me knows that I love scary movies and this week I was trying to decide between two of my favorites but I couldn’t choose so this week you get a two for one.  So, I’ll start this thing off with the movie that came to mind first for this week and that was Kristy . Kristy is about a college girl that stays on campus during holiday break. Seemingly alone, save for the two campus security guards, she finds ways to occupy her time with hijinks and typical college kid stuff. One night she decides that she has a craving for ice cream and runs into a very creepy girl at the store. This creepy encounter follows her back to campus for a deadly game of cat and mouse. Kristy finds herself in a fight for survival against some grim odds. I thought it was a rather good movie and I hope you do too.    Click to view trailer. Next up we have He’s Out There. A family of f

What to Watch Friday: The Last Kingdom

Image
What to Watch Friday Kicking off my what to watch Friday is one of my absolute favorite Netflix shows, The Last Kingdom. I started watching The Last Kingdom because I had just gotten into Game of Thrones and had binged watched it until I had caught up. Looking for something to watch until the new season came out, I was trolling through Netflix when I came across The Last Kingdom and I figured, “what the heck.” I was not disappointed. The Last Kingdom is about Uhtred, a man born a Saxon, betrayed by his uncle and left to a seemingly miserable life with the Danes. Kept as a slave, Uhtred proved himself to the Danish leader he served, who came to love him as a son. Uhtred’s Danish family was betrayed and murdered. Forced to flee his home on a path for revenge, his journey carries him across greats lands, through various battles, and halls of the nobles. From Danish slave to noble Lord, Uhtred’s story is one love, triumph, loss and pain with characters you will love and love to

Everything&Nothing: Explained

Everything&Nothing Explained A few weeks ago, I did a live stream that I titled “What’s the Point?” This is a little bit more of an elaboration on that, but before I get started, I just want to take a moment to say thanks for taking the time to stop by and check out my blog. This is a new venture for me, and I really appreciate the support and encouragement I get from everyone, so from the bottom of the heart I don’t claim to have, Thank you! Alright, now that we got that crap out of the way, I can start my soap opera. The day I did “What’s the point?”, I was kind of battling with negative thoughts and this is a constant struggle for me because all of my life I have somewhat followed a path halfheartedly because people told me it was the best thing to do. It was the safe bet if you will. Ultimately the decision to go to college was my own, so I have no one to blame for not taking it seriously or not investing more and figuring out what degree I really wanted and how to
