Gina Carano Shadow banned on Twitter

Image
I was scrolling through my phone when I came across this article about Gina Carano being shadow banned from Twitter. I've been following this whole Gina Carano thing since back when she thumbed her nose at the LGBTQ community when they came after her for not putting her pronouns in her bio.  If you read that article, then you remember that I said I was on her side at very beginning because I felt that if she didn't care about people assuming her gender then why should she have to put her pronouns her bio? The only people who should be worried about being misidentified are the people who don't identify with their gender and don't want people assuming what they are, but where she lost me was when she put "beep/bop/boop" in her bio. I felt it was disrespectful for her to do such a thing because it actually means something to people, but it is her right to not co-sign.  She took it took far and I at that point I no longer cared for her, but not so much so that I f...

FF7 Remake is a solid game but....

Image
Final Fantasy 7 probably will always be my favorite of the series. The graphics were shit, but the game was phenomenal. The story line, the battle mechanics, the puzzles, and even the side quests with those impossible to beat mega bosses were fun and kept us playing for hours.  Naturally when news of them Square Enix doing a remake broke myself and all the other fanatics were excited. Admittedly, I was late to the Final Fantasy party, but when it finished downloading I couldn't wait to see if it would stack up to the original.  So far I am at the part where the sector 7 plate has fallen and Cloud and company are chasing down these side quests to help out the people in the aftermath-- specifically I am at the battle with Behemoth Type-0, if that means anything to you. If not just know it's a big boss that's incredibly challenging to beat.  Anyway, so far that game has started off really well as pertains to the graphics and the story, but where my biggest issue lies with th...

A Criminal Minds Reboot-- Already?

Image
Criminal Minds is one of my all-time favorite TV shows; I have seen all 15 season at least 3 times. Sometimes I get up and turn on Criminal Minds just so I have background noise while I am gaming or working on a project. When the show finally came to close I was just as bummed about it as I was after I saw the last episode of Friends, another one of my TV show obsessions, so when I read that they might be doing a reboot I was super excited.  The Show First, I'll talk a little bit about the show overall for those of you who haven't seen it. The show follows a team of FBI agents in the Behavioral Analysis Unit, or BAU for short. The show started out with Aaron Hotchner and Jason Gideon leading the team. The team members were Dr. Spencer Reid, Jennifer Jareau, Elle Greenaway, Derek Morgan and Penelope Gracia as the technical analyst.  The team travels the country solving heinous crimes by studying the criminals' behavior to predict what the criminal will do next or where he is...

Gina Carano fired, Pedro Pascal is Disappointed and Even Bill Burr Has Something to Say

Image
Gina Carano finally forced Disney to cut ties with her and she doesn't seem to be very happy about it-- for the life of me I can't figure out why she is so upset with the situation. She was able to use social media to voice her opinions, people reacted to those opinions, Disney warned her, gave her a chance to apologize and smooth things over, but Gina stuck to her guns and Disney had to cut ties. In my mind, she got exactly what she wanted. She wanted to speak her mind and not be told she has to watch what she says in public forums and now she can do that working with Ben Shapiro and his brand of crazy.  I get that she might have wanted to stay on the Mandalorian, but that's not how being a celebrity and working in film works. The reason they casted Terrance Howard to play Rhodey in the original Iron Man is because at the time his star was on the rise and people knew that adding him to the cast would bring more viewers to the theater. They later switched to Don Cheadle b...

I'm not even sure why we would have to tell someone that Gorilla Glue is not hair product but here we are...

Image
We all have our specific products, right? We all have that one body wash or toothpaste brand that we always get and it's a hassle when you run out or the store doesn't have it in stock so you have to make due. Some of us just buy the next best thing, and some of try to make due with a substitute and that's what this lady from Louisiana tried to do.  Out of Product So apparently Tessica Brown was doing her hair one day and as she was putting the finishing touches on her hair she noticed that she was out of her usual hair product. Now I can't say whether or not she took time to think this all the way through, but at some point she thought that the Gorilla Glue Spray she had would make a good substitute for her normal product.   She applied the GG spray to her hair and posted on her social media that after a month her hair still doesn't move. To give her credit, she wasn't wrong about the GG spray being a good at holding her hair in place, but she definitely wasn...

Georgia GOP Lawmakers introduce voting restriction legislation

Image
Georgia GOP are really pushing hard to make sure that mail-in ballot fraud doesn't happen again-- even though there's no proof it ever happened in the first place. The GOP proposed some legislation that would make it harder for people to get absentee ballots. The plan would be that voters would need to be 75 years old or older, absent from their precinct, observing a religious holiday, have a physical disability, be required to provide constant care for someone with a physical disability, or required to work "for the protection of the health, life, or safety of the public during the entire time the polls are open" to qualify to vote absentee. Essentially they want to make it so that it's harder for people to vote because as it stands a lot of people don't go vote simply because they can't get the time off from work to go vote. There are millions of people working and we are only allowed to vote during a certain window. Some people can't afford to take ...

Ron DeSantis Says They Should Fine Social Media Companies if They Ban State Lawmakers

Image
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis introduce a plan to punish social media if they ban state lawmakers. This comes after social media sites banned Trump after the Capitol riots citing that his presence on social media only served to antagonize and incite violence. According to DeSantis' proposal social media companies would be fined $100,000 daily until the candidate's access to a platform be restored.  Ron DeSantis is a moron and so is anyone that agrees with this. The reason these politicians don't want social media to ban them is because it's the only place where they can post whatever they want, fact or fiction, and no one is supposed to question it.  For instance, Trump lost his damn mind when social media companies started putting fact checkers on his tweets when they referenced the virus. He was saying that social media was trying to censor his freedom of speech. No, social is trying to keep the spreading of misinformation around thus they put the fact checkers...
